By Frekl Ginger Beer

What's Actually in a Can of Frekl?

We reckon if you can't explain what's in your drink, you probably shouldn't be drinking it.

So here's every ingredient in a can of Frekl Classic Ginger Beer, in plain English, with nothing to hide and nowhere to hide it.

The full list: Carbonated water, natural sweetener (erythritol), ginger juice, natural flavours, citric acid, natural colour.

That's it. Six ingredients. Let's go through them.

**Carbonated water**

Water. With bubbles. You know this one.

**Natural sweetener (erythritol)**

This is the one people ask about most, so let's clear it up.

Erythritol is a naturally occurring sweetener found in fruits like grapes, pears, and watermelon. It tastes like sugar but your body doesn't metabolise it the same way — which means it has almost zero calories and doesn't spike your blood sugar.

It's not aspartame. It's not sucralose. It's not an artificial sweetener. It's a plant-based sweetener that's been used in food and drink for decades.

Does it taste weird? Nope. Most people can't tell the difference. If you've tried Frekl and thought "there's no way this is sugar free" — that's the erythritol doing its job.

**Ginger juice**

Real ginger. From Queensland. Pressed into juice.

This is what gives Frekl its warmth and zing. Not a "ginger flavouring" or a "ginger extract" — actual ginger, from actual Australian ginger farms.

**Natural flavours**

These are flavour compounds derived from natural sources (plants, fruits, spices) that round out the flavour profile. Nothing artificial here.

**Citric acid**

Found naturally in citrus fruits. Adds a subtle tartness that balances the sweetness and keeps everything tasting fresh. This is in basically every soft drink, juice, and sparkling water you've ever had.

**Natural colour**

A tiny amount of natural caramel colour gives Frekl its warm, golden tone. No artificial dyes, no numbers you can't pronounce.

**What's NOT in a can of Frekl**

Sometimes it's easier to talk about what we left out:

- No sugar (zero, zilch, none)
- No artificial sweeteners
- No artificial colours or flavours
- No preservatives
- No gluten
- No alcohol
- No animal products (it's fully vegan)

**The bottom line**

Six ingredients. All natural. Zero sugar. 16 calories. Made in Australia.

We're not trying to be a health brand. We're trying to make a ginger beer that tastes great and doesn't make you feel average afterwards. If that happens to be better for you, well — you're welcome.

Put a Frekl in the fridge.
